I'm a data scientist in Charlotte, North Carolina. At AIG, contracted through Cognizant, I'm part of the effort delivering agentic AI assistance to underwriters across Financial and Property & Casualty lines. My role covers the quality of what we deliver, and my day-to-day work is in Palantir Foundry and Palantir AIP.

I came to data by way of hardware. I studied electronics engineering, and my first internship, at Tech Mahindra, had me writing code that controlled equipment in hazardous environments. At IBM I worked with data from a national coffee retail chain and saw how analysis could shape real business decisions. That pulled me toward a Master of Science in Data Science at Stevens Institute of Technology.

Since then my work has centred on applied AI: parameter-efficient fine-tuning (PEFT) and prompt optimization for dental health tools at HealthXchange International, and now agentic AI in insurance. Underneath the models and pipelines, I keep coming back to the same question: does this make the work easier for the person using it?
